Soil remediation on a former fitting production facility in Magdeburg

On the grounds of a former fitting production facility in Magdeburg, the Bauer Resources team prepared the soil for a successful new beginning. Approximately 5,600 m³ of soil were excavated and 3,350 m³ of contaminated material were replaced to a depth of 9 m. At the end of the large-scale drilling work, roughly 20,000 tons of contaminant remained, which were transported to a soil treatment center in gas-tight and impermeable containers. Furthermore, a water treatment plant was used to clean roughly 110 m³ of polluted groundwater. Business as usual, but extremely hard work for our team: this was due to the clayey soil as well as the necessary occupational safety measures in the black zone.
