Rehabilitation of a former laundry plant in Dresden
Bauer Resources impressively demonstrated how to convert a contaminated site into an unpolluted space in Dresden’s Laubegast district. On the 870 m2 Schoof premises, the experts excavated and drilled for all they’re worth to free the polluted soil from all traces of the former chemical cleaning facility. A total of approximately 3,500 m3 of soil were excavated and 6,000 m3 of contaminated soil material were replaced to a depth of 15 m using large-scale boreholes, and 4,800 t of contaminated material were properly disposed of. Additionally, a groundwater treatment plant was installed to clean approximately 60 m3 of polluted groundwater per hour. All this work was carried out under the strictest safety precautions, as safety was the top priority.
