Excavation pit construction in Kirchheim bei Muenchen

Giving gravel a second life

In the picturesque Rathausviertel neighborhood of Kirchheim bei Muenchen, an impressive development is taking shape. A modern residential quarter with 138 apartments and 28 townhouses is under construction here which not only offers future residents an attractive home, but also makes a sustainable contribution to environmental protection. How? By recycling the gravel generated during excavation pit construction and reusing it to produce concrete. Within a period of just eight weeks, the Bauer Resources team gradually excavated the excavation pits up to a depth of 3 m. In the process, a total of 38,000 m3 of material was produced, including roughly 33,000 m3 of gravel. This was loaded directly, transported to a nearby gravel plant and treated there for concrete production. It’s that easy, it’s that sustainable.
